A long day, beginning very well with the Slinky Minx: an early breakfast on the Chiswick High Road. A superb sending-off for the upcoming tour.
Then to Heathrow & United to Milwaukee via Chicago in Cattle Class. There were several open seats, so I moved to a seat with the adjoining seat open. Wonder of wonders: no Mr. Booby, no Mr. Sniffy sitting next to me. I note, all the boobies & sniffies I encounter on long-haul flights are male. Why is this I wonder? Usually, my butt goes numb after three hours in an economy seat & this was also true today. Nevertheless, the flight was bearable.
Storms in the Chicago area had us landing late, prejudicing the connection. The connection, however, was also late for the same reason. Once onboard, we spent 90 minutes on the runway in the small commuter flight. Next to me: a Mr. Sniffy.
John was waiting, heroically, to collect me and carry me off to Palmyra. My suitcase, United assured us, will arrive tonight in Milwaukee & be delivered to Palmyra in the morning.
